Notas sobre la canción

- La letra de la canción habla de la gente que sólo tiene como objetivo ganar dinero hasta que un día se dan cuenta de que ese dinero no les sirve para nada. Otra interpretación de la canción apunta que la canción se refiere a la gente que ha gastado toda su vida deseando sin intentar hacer realidad estos sueños.

- La demo de la canción “King Nothing” fue llamada “Load” (de ahí en título del álbum) y fue grabada en el estudio casero de Lars “Dungeon” por James y Lars el 30 de Noviembre de 1994.

- “King Nothing” fue tocada por primera vez el 23 de Septiembre de 1995 en the Arctic Circle show en Northern, Canadá. También se tocó en el American Music Awards el 27 de Enero de 1997.

- Esta canción es una de las que más fielmente representan el cambio de estilo desde el thrash metal hacia el hard rock y el rock alternativo.

- Justo al final de la canción se puede escuchar el último verso de “Enter Sandman”, una de las canciones más exitosas de la banda.

- El videoclip de la canción fue grabado en Salt Lake City, Utah en Diciembre de 1996, estrenado en MTV el 17 de Enero de 1997 y fué dirigido por Matt Mahurin, quien ya había dirigido a Mötley Crüe, Quuensyrche y el “The Unforgiven” para el disco The Black Album de Metallica.
